Our Microfinance Program
What is Microfinance?
Typically microfinancing is being done oversees to help individuals in third world countries get out of the poverty cycle. It is an approach that is looking to create long lasting sustainable change in societies instead of placing a band-aid on the wound.
An example of microfinaning would be a non-profit or bank loaning a Haitian farmer $50 to purchase farming equipment. This equipment would enable him to multiply the crops he is producing, therefore making more money. He would then pay $50, along with a small amount of interest, back to the organization that loaned him the money.

Our Goal:
We would like to be able to provide micro loans to homeless individuals in the U.S. who are serious about getting off the streets and starting over again. We are looking to establish a microfinance program that will empower a homeless individual to work toward a better life and help them accomplish this by providing financial assistance and other resources as needed. We do not believe in charging the individual interest, and therefore will only have them pay back the original amount.
Verse: Exodus 22:25 “If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not be like a moneylender; charge him no interest.”
Current Progress:
We are in the very beginning phases of researching this project. We have established a committee which has helped to lay a small framework for how the program will work. We are now looking to establish a work committee to further progress deeper into research and development to ensure the program is successful when we are ready for our first loan. We will keep you updated with more information as we progress.
