TAG: The Anonymous Gift

TAG, short for The Anonymous Gift, is a pay-it-forward program where people are blessed by random, anonymous acts of kindness or service and asked to pay it forward to others. It is based on the childhood playground game in which one person tags another, and it is then their job to tag someone else. The same holds for this program!

Once someone is tagged, they are simply asked to bless another person by an anonymous act of kindness or service. It could be something small such as buying coffee for a stranger, or donating a car to someone in need of transportation. The size of the act makes no difference – the idea is to bless others through anonymous kindness, to encourage others to be a source of good throughout the world, and to spread the love of Christ that God instilled in our hearts.

The TAG Mission Statement is “To spread the love of Christ by blessing and meeting the needs of others through anonymous acts of giving and service.”

We are hoping to implement TAG in May 2010, along with a website launch for the program including more information. If you would like to know more information please email ncompass.bmi@gmail.com. Look forward to getting tagged or tagging someone else soon!

“Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:1-4

TAG is rooted in and powered by the love of Christ.
