Our History of Large Dreams

In 2006, a handful of Oregon State University students saw a broken and suffering world, and decided to pool their resources together to try to do something about it.

Not yet organized, they had this idea that if you can mobilize people to give a small amount of their time and resources, you can make big differences. This was the original belief which started Ncompass; a nonprofit organization to fight against the suffering and injustice that we all witness on a daily basis.

The group had to start somewhere and their neighborhood, (Portland, OR), seemed like the best place to begin. Jesus says, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” From this homeless ministry, Ncompass has moved into a few other service areas, planning to consistently grow in the ability to help as many people as possible. Ncompass is confident that the resources are out there and with the right strategy, collaboration, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, great things will be accomplished.
