Joey Jenkins

Executive Director / Board Member
Joey graduated from Oregon State University in 2007 with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Shortly after graduation he returned to Oregon State to obtain his MBA. Joey is interested about health and wellness and would love to merge his two degrees in the future to help people become healthier from a holistic perspective. He loves working with people and is an very passionate individual. He married his longtime best friend, Stephanie Jenkins, in 2009 and is excited to have a family of his own now.

Stephanie Jenkins

Treasurer / Board Member
Stephanie Jenkins graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and went on to get her Master’s of Teaching at Southern Oregon University. She has been teaching 5th grade in Beaverton ever since and she loves it. Stephanie hopes to be able to serve children around the world using the skills she has learned in the classroom. She married her first love, Joey, last year and can’t wait until they have kids of their own!

Jason Springer

Technology Wizard / Board Member
Jason grew up in bustling Dayton, OR. He was raised in the construction industry and went on to graduate from Oregon State University with a degree in Construction Engineering Management. While at Oregon State, Jason met his beautiful wife and best friend Crystal Springer. He married Crystal in June of 2007 and couldn’t feel more blessed to have such an awesome wife. Jason is currently working with his father in a 3rd generation construction company. Having lived in both Central and South America, Jason dreams of one day being able to serve in Latin America using his construction engineering background.

Crystal Springer

Secretary / Board Member
Crystal Springer was raised in Hood River, Oregon, one of the most beautiful places in the country. It was there that she developed her deep love of life and the Lord. She was baptized in the Columbia River on September 12, 2004 and has spent the last six years learning and growing in her faith. She attended Oregon State University where she met Jason, her husband and love of her life. They married in June of 2007 at the beautiful Oregon Gardens. Crystal graduated from OSU in 2004 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry and is currently in the Physician Assistant program at Oregon Health & Science University. She dreams of someday combining her medical training with Ncompass to serve God’s people, both locally and abroad. She is excited for the future and to see what life brings!

Blake Kauer

Board Member
Blake Kauer is a surfer, a husband, a farmer and the comic relief that makes the most uncomfortable of situations funny. He’s an adventurous man’s man but also embodies the word “compassion”. Blake graduated from Oregon State University in June 2006 with a degree in Crop and Soil Science. He currently works on his family farm in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. When he is not working or volunteering his time at Ncompass, he is out chasing the best waves on the Oregon coast with his wife, best buddy, and co-captian Haley Kauer. If spirituality, practicality and humor were ever residing in one human, that human would be Blake.

Haley Kauer

Marketing Director
Haley Kauer is, in one word: vivacious. She provides fresh insight to each conversation, is an excellent host, cooks a mean pasta, loves hard and fights for what’s right even harder. Haley considers it her personal mission to stand up for those who can not stand up for themselves. Having graduated from Oregon State University in 2008 with degrees in Speech Communication and Cultural Anthropology Haley is not working in either field, but knows that perspective from both of those degrees has shaped her into a stronger person. Haley has been involved in Ncompass since 2006 when she was asked to become their Marketing Director. Currently, Haley is coaching a dance team, is perusing her Masters at Teaching through George Fox, is an educational assistant and is, most importantly, the wife of her long-time champion, Blake Kauer. Her life has never been better.

Ben Misley

Director of Program Development
Ben Misley is a huge dreamer. When he gets a desire in his heart he doesn’t wish for it to happen, he makes it happen. While not the most vocal individual don’t be deceived… his mind is racing 100 miles an hour and while he always understands both sides of a debate he is the one to bring peace and clarification to the situation. Also, he will also blow your mind in any brainstorming session. Ben can often be found singing, dancing or on some kind of spontaneous adventure. You can see the light of his soul through his kind, welcoming eyes and feel his compassion through his gentle demeanor. While dreaming big for himself he loves to empower those around him and always has others’ needs ahead of his own. Ben believes he has been blessed so that he can be a blessing to others – if he is not living a life of impactful service, he is not satisfied. Ben will be graduating from Oregon State University in Business Management and Finance with a minor in Mathematics, and he brings his business mind and calm heart to Ncompass to tackle social issues and give hope to those who are suffering. He’s excited for the next big adventure the Lord has in store for him and continues to bring a smile and positive and gentle attitude to others while he listens and waits. He’s a happy guy.

Jacey Draper

Volunteer Coordinator
Jacey Draper has a heart for all people- the sick, the elderly, children, the impoverished, and any others who are suffering and lack hope. She has been with Ncompass for three years and her service has been an asset and a blessing to those she interacts with. Jacey is a playful and light-hearted individual who is sure to bring a smile to your face. She has a love for adventure and is willing to push herself to the limit when accomplishing a task. She studied Exercise and Sports Science at Oregon State University and also recently received her massage therapy license in Boston. She is currently coaching a gymnastics team and having an amazing time but is excited to move back home to be close to her family and friends. Jacey is always willing to try new things and would sacrifice anything for the ones she loves.

Emily Rose

Event and Fundraising Coordinator
There is so much more to Emily Rose than meets the eye. She is a cheerful and beautiful person who maintains that persona while juggling more tasks than anyone we’ve met. You might say that she is our trump card. Em has been involved in the Ncompass monthly deliveries in Portland for the past 3 years and was asked to join the Ncompass team as the Event Coordinator in 2009. Fresh out of the gate, she single handedly coordinated our first big Homeless event. She will graduate from Oregon State University in March 2010 with a degree in Speech Communication. This February, she is going to Vancouver B.C. for an internship with NBC at the Winter Olympic Games. This should be a very exciting time for her to learn many different avenues of the sports and management world. Em’s ultimate career goal is to be an event planner, and she is very anxious and eager to see what the Lord has in store for her in the years to come.
