Your sponsorship provides daily meals, as well as hygiene supplies. It also helps to support the wages of the staff at the Maranatha House who help take care of the children.

What does the general fund support?

The general funds is used toward capital improvement and maintenance projects, children who are not fully sponsored, medical and travel expenses.   This fund also provides funding for the children’s education costs.

How do I correspond with the child I sponsor?

You may write to your sponsored child and send letters to

Because the public mail system in Haiti is not dependable, letters will be delivered as teams go down.  It is estimated that they will be sent quarterly. 

Is there anything I should or shouldn’t say in my letters?

Please share about your life in your letters.  This will help build relationship with the child. You can also send a picture of your family.  However, please be culturally sensitive: don’t ask about political issues.  Lastly, because of the extreme poverty that these children live in, we ask that you don’t tell of vacations, or recent purchases. 

Will I receive letters from my sponsored child?

As our core values state, we believe in building strong, meaningful relationships with your sponsored child.  However, at this time we cannot guarantee the frequency of correspondence with your child. 

Can I send gifts?

At this time, we ask that you do not send gifts to your sponsored child.  Because not all of the children have sponsors, we would not want them to feel left out if someone else receives a gift. 

Can I visit the child I sponsor?

You can potentially join one of the mission trips down to the orphanage.    Depending on the time of year, estimated costs for travel are $1000- $1500 for a one week period. How do I give my donations for sponsorship each month?

You can set up electronic giving through our website: www.worldncompass.org or at an Ncompass event.  You can also mail a check each month to

PO Box 1429   Beaverton, OR 97075.

 

If you wish to send in checks Ncompass, reminders will be sent out through email when donations are due to keep your sponsorship active.

 

Are my donations tax deductible?

Yes.  At the beginning of the following year you will receive a giving statement in the mail.
