TAG (The Anonymous Gift)

TAG is rooted in, and powered by, the love of Christ.

TAG, short for The Anonymous Gift, is a pay-it-forward program where people are blessed by random, anonymous acts of kindness or service. TAG is simply a catalyst for your goodwill. The idea is that with acts of anonymous kindness, we can start a wave and revolution of love that sweeps across the communities we live in and around the globe.

TAG is based on the childhood playground game in which one person tags another, and it is then their turn to tag someone else. The same holds for this program.

Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary use words. —St. Francis of Assisi

I’ve been TAG’ed. Now what?

Once someone is TAG’ed, they are simply asked to bless another person by an anonymous act of kindness or service. The size of the act makes no difference — the idea is to bless others through anonymous kindness, to encourage others to be a source of good throughout the world, and to spread the love of Christ that God instilled in our hearts.

TAG is a simple program:

  1. Receive a TAG token
  2. Identify an opportunity to bless another individual
  3. Act on opportunity
  4. TAG! Put your TAG token with your anonymous gift or act of service

Please note that if you want your TAG recipient to TAG others, it is highly critical to put the TAG token you received with your anonymous gift or act of service! This way they will know to pay it forward!

Need an Idea?

Here are some to help spur you along:

  • Buy coffee for a stranger
  • Pay for someone’s restaurant bill or groceries
  • Donate a car or bicycle to someone in need of transportation
  • Mow someone’s lawn while they are out of the house
  • Leave a gift basket on someone’s front porch
  • Wash someone’s car while they are away

Please let these ideas only be a starting point. We encourage you to be as creative and sincere as possible. We also encourage you to do your act of kindness anonymously! This may take some brainstorming on your part, but we are confident in your creativity.

So now it’s up to you! Please join us in starting this revolution of love!

Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. (Matthew 6:1-4)

I am a visual artist and broadcaster. I visited the Daily Grind (here in Corvallis, Oregon) to see how my art on display was doing. I was tagged by the wonderful lady that runs the Daily Grind (a little coffee shop). I plan to pass the Tagg along to someone this week. It is very uplifting.
Thanks.
