Joey Jenkins
Executive Director / Board Member
Joey graduated from Oregon State University in 2007 with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Shortly after graduation he returned to Oregon State to obtain his MBA. Joey is interested in health and wellness and would love to merge his two degrees in the future to help people become healthier from a holistic perspective. He is currently a Fitness Manager at 24 Hour Fitness. He loves working with people and is a very passionate individual. He married his longtime best friend, Stephanie Jenkins, in 2009. They just recently welcomed the birth of their first baby in 2011.
Ben Misley
Vice President / Board Member
Ben graduated in June 2010 from Oregon State University with degrees in in Business Administration, Management, and Finance, and brings his business mind and calm heart to Ncompass to tackle social issues and give hope to those who are suffering. Ben believes he has been blessed so that he can be a blessing to others — to live out a life of impactful and meaningful service to those in need. Ncompass is one of the biggest ways he does this. In his spare time, he loves to travel, cross things off his bucket list, and find new adventures.
Stephanie Jenkins
Co-Founder
Stephanie Jenkins graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and went on to get her Master’s of Teaching at Southern Oregon University. She has been teaching 5th grade in Beaverton ever since and she loves it. Stephanie hopes to be able to serve children around the world using the skills she has learned in the classroom. She married her first love, Joey in 2009, and welcomed their first baby girl in 2011.
Jason Springer
Technology Wizard / Board Member
Jason grew up in bustling Dayton, OR. He was raised in the construction industry and went on to graduate from Oregon State University with a degree in Construction Engineering Management. While at Oregon State, Jason met his beautiful wife and best friend Crystal Springer. Jason and Crystal have been married since June of 2007 and are loving married life. Jason is currently working as a Project Engineer for a general contractor in the Portland area. In addition to serving on the Ncompass Board of Directors, Jason hopes to utilize his construction engineering background on Ncompass projects in the developing world.
Crystal Springer
Secretary / Co-Founder
Crystal was raised in Hood River, Oregon, in the majestic Columbia River Gorge. She attended Oregon State University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. It was at OSU where she first met the love of her life, Jason Springer. They were married in the beautiful Oregon Gardens in Silverton, Oregon in the summer of 2007. She continued her education at Oregon Health & Science University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in August of 2011 and is now a practicing Physician Assistant in a busy General Surgery practice. Crystal is passionate about medicine and serving others and hopes to incorporate her medical training with Ncompass to serve God’s people, both locally and abroad.
Jacey Draper
T.A.G. Coordinator
Jacey Draper has a heart for all people- the sick, the elderly, children, the impoverished, and any others who are suffering and lack hope. She has been with Ncompass for three years and her service has been an asset and a blessing to those she interacts with. Jacey is a playful and light-hearted individual who is sure to bring a smile to your face. She has a love for adventure and is willing to push herself to the limit when accomplishing a task. She studied Exercise and Sports Science at Oregon State University and also recently received her massage therapy license in Boston. She is currently coaching a gymnastics team and having an amazing time but is excited to move back home to be close to her family and friends. Jacey is always willing to try new things and would sacrifice anything for the ones she loves.
Emily Rose-Traylor
Event Director
Emily has been working with Ncompass since 2007, starting as a committed volunteer with lunch deliveries. In 2009, she was brought on with Ncompass as their first, part-time paid employee to manage all events that Ncompass held. Emily has a BA in Speech Communication from Oregon State University and now works full time at a corporate event planning company in Beaverton, Oregon. Emily was married in October 2010 to Andy Traylor and the two are living in Happy Valley, Oregon. In her spare time Emily enjoys hanging out with friends and family, watching movies, planning parties and traveling.
Mitchell Walker
Director of Homeless Outreach / Officer
Mitchell has been working with Ncompass since 2008. Mitchell holds a BS in Business Administration from Portland State University and a MA in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and is currently going for his PhD at Gonzaga University with his dissertation focusing on Economic Sustainability. After graduating he would like to pursue teaching at the collegiate level. Mitchell’s passion is for the poor and marginalized in the city of Portland and around the world. He is married to Malory Walker and they both currently reside in Tigard, Oregon. In their spare time they both enjoy rock climbing, surfing, hiking, and camping.
Miles Dodge
Director of International Relations
Miles officially joined Ncompass in 2011 bringing with him a diverse professional background and passion for social justice. A graduate of the Honors College at Oregon State University with a B.S. in Business, Miles has leadership background working in recreational sports, a Fortune 500 company and higher education. As an award winning college Student Success Coach and Entrepreneur he hopes to mesh his blue collar work ethic with his passion to serve God by serving others with a community of compassionate believers.
Randy & Katie Matheny
Haiti Country Coordinators
Randy and Katie were married in 2010. During their first spring-break as a couple, they ventured with their church to Carrefore, Haiti. While there, God really spoke into their hearts and filled them each with a love for Haiti, its people, and the move of God there. After seeing the differences made through the building of relationships with Americans and Haitians, Randy and Katie joined Ncompass in 2011 and are excited to partner with Ncompass as they serve in Haiti. Randy’s background is in construction and sales. And he has a passion for the piano and guitar. Katie is an art and Spanish teacher, and she loves working with children. As a team, they are looking forward to seeing how God uses their gifts to reach the Portland, Haitian and global community.
Dan Paldino
Director of Finance
Dan graduated from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 2006 with a degree in economics. He is now working for a public accounting firm in Tigard, Oregon and is perusing his CPA licence. He has 6 years experience working in accounting and is grateful to use his skills to help further Ncompass’ cause. Dan, and his wife Kelsey, enjoy serving together through the many opportunities Ncompass has brought into their lives.
Blake Kauer
Board Member
Blake Kauer is a surfer, a husband, a farmer and the comic relief that makes the most uncomfortable of situations funny. He’s an adventurous man’s man but also embodies the word “compassion”. Blake graduated from Oregon State University in June 2006 with a degree in Crop and Soil Science. He currently works on his family farm in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. When he is not working or volunteering his time at Ncompass, he is out chasing the best waves on the Oregon coast with his wife, best buddy, and co-captian Haley Kauer. If spirituality, practicality and humor were ever residing in one human, that human would be Blake.
